First wedding of 2010 {Owen Sound Wedding Photography}

Who gets married in February? Well only the best I say. I was married on February 18th 2006 during a full on blizzard. I wasn't too happy about the weather but it all worked out and we've done a lot in those 4 years!

Adam & Hailey also planned a winter wedding. I had the pleasure of photographing their big day with the help of another fab photographer, and my great friend, Allison Kennedy. We had a blast! Allison and I hadn't worked together since the motocross days. It was great to shoot with her again.



It was also great to work with groomsman Matt McCartney (far left) whom I will never forget again!!!

We didn't get the blue sky day that everyone dreams of during the winter months but we did get a dramatic sky and great light.

Helping Hearts Contest Winner {Owen Sound Family Portrait}

We have a winner!!

Melissa Couch and family won a free family portrait session by donating to FOTOCAN and sending me a copy of their receipt. The contest was part of an international fundraiser called Helping Hearts. Photographers from all over donated their session time to raise money for Haiti. Christy and Co., CJ Photo raised $310 towards the cause thanks to my great clients!!! I'll update you with the grand total for all the photographers involved when the numbers are announced....I'm sure it will be huge.

Our little man turned one this weekend and I can hardly believe it!

The past 365 days have flow by. Business has been exceptionally good but I feel like I need to pull back and gain some sort of control over the situation that is my crazy life. No regrets, I had a great year, but to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and sanity for me and my family some changes are in order for the years to come.

So for the year ahead I've booked fewer weddings...that should be a good start! I am now booked or OFF-what is that?-from June thru September 24th for 2010 with the exception of June 12th which I am okay with booking or not. I will also be taking on fewer portrait sessions and concentrating on more creative sessions. I will be saying NO to a lot of random things that come my way, really I can say no, I swear. I will be asking for and hiring help, much needed.

It is going to be hard but my kids are soooo worth it.

Guess my 'maternity leave' is over...better get to work, ha!
